CLIENT: Broker | MGA
CATEGORY: Sales and Acquisitions
TOPIC: Exploring opportunies of an acquisition.
Overview
With an opportunity for an acquisition, we were tasked with evaluating the existing business to identify opportunities available to the purchasing group and explore areas for growth and enhanced profitability.
Problem
The business to be accquired was described as 'sleepy and reactive', and despite there being a number of opportunities available to the business to grow these had not been taken advantage of.
SWOT
Whilst this was a long established player, we identified major gaps in the product offering and suggested essential enhancements to align them with market expectations. Furthermore, during our on-site evaluation, we found processes that needed significant improvement and several compliance issues that could have led to a PI claim.
Solution
We outlined the key recommendations made to enhance profitability and suggested new product lines to meet emerging customer needs. We also recommended streamlining operations to reduce costs and increase output. We explored several methods for improving the financial performance of the business designing campaigns that directly appeal to key customer segments. We also identified areas for cost reduction without sacrificing quality.
Conclusion
After our thorough evaluation, the acquisition proceeded, and 80% of our recommendations were implemented.
